The 3rd International Conference on Public Health and Nutrition (ICPHN 2025), held on 14–15 October 2025, brought together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from across the world to discuss emerging issues in public health, wellbeing, and nutrition.
Representing the Metropolis project, Dr. Pattie Gonsalves, Co-Investigator, participated in a panel discussion exploring the influences of digital and social media on adolescent mental health. Drawing on insights from Metropolis’s ongoing work with young people in India, Dr. Gonsalves highlighted both the opportunities and challenges that digital platforms present for youth wellbeing, engagement, and peer support.
The discussion underscored the importance of evidence-based strategies that leverage digital spaces to promote mental health literacy, build supportive online communities, and empower young people to engage meaningfully with their mental wellbeing.
