Dr. Anurag Telang

Assistant Research Coordinator

Dr. Anurag  is a dentist and public health professional with a keen interest in youth mental health and wellbeing. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery and a Master’s in Public Health from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. He has contributed to a range of research and programmatic initiatives with organizations such as the National Health Mission (NHM) Maharashtra, ARMMAN, Goa Institute of Management, and Seva Mandir, Udaipur.


His academic and professional journey includes publishing a peer-reviewed research paper and a public health article, reflecting his commitment to evidence-based practice. During his time at the TISS Counselling and Wellbeing Centre, he served as a peer supporter, helping promote mental health awareness and outreach among students.


In his current role with Project METROPOLIS, Dr. Anurag oversees and supports participant recruitment for the randomized controlled trial, manages recruitment data systems, and coordinates campus-based engagement through the “It’s Okay to Talk” campaign. He works closely with student ambassadors, providing on-ground support, facilitating communication, and contributing to content creation and management.


Driven by his lived experiences, Dr. Anurag believes that mental health is universal — it affects us all, and every story matters.
